FAQ
The things families ask us most. If yours isn’t here, the contact page goes straight to a human.
What’s a “no-hitter”?
In the T1D community, a no-hitter is a perfect day — a glucose line that runs steady from midnight to midnight. They’re rare and glorious. We named the lab after them, then built everything for all the other days.
What is NoHitter Labs, really?
A tiny independent lab making small, playful, genuinely useful web apps for type 1 diabetes families — built by a T1D dad, shaped by the community, and funded entirely by membership. No ads, no investors, no data selling.
How do I get Brave?
Join the Family Pass at patreon.com/nohitterlabs, open your members-only welcome post, and tap the Brave link. It installs to any phone or tablet like a regular app and works offline after that. Two minutes, start to finish.
How much does membership cost?
One Family Pass, one price, listed on our Patreon page. It covers every person in your household, every device, and every app we make — current and future. There are no tiers, because families don’t come in tiers.
Can grandparents and babysitters use it too?
Yes. Your membership covers your family’s devices — and honestly, site changes at grandma’s house are exactly when a kid needs their Pip most.
What data do you collect?
Almost none, and we’re proud of that. The only thing our systems can see is which Pips your family has unlocked — that’s what makes trading-card ordering work. Everything else — names, notes, rotation history, all of it — stays on your device. We couldn’t peek if we wanted to.
Is this medical advice?
No. Our apps are wellness and organization tools, not medical devices. They never give dosing guidance, and we never gamify glucose numbers. Your care team is the boss; we’re just here to make the everyday parts lighter.
What devices does it work on?
Any modern phone, tablet, or computer with a browser — iPhone, iPad, Android, Chromebook, whatever your family has. Our apps install to the home screen and work offline. No app store required.
My kid cried during a site change. Does the gem still count?
Always. Gems are for showing up, never for being calm. Tears are allowed — bravery and crying happen at the same time all the time. That rule is built into the app and it’s not negotiable.
How do the trading cards work?
When the store opens, every Pip your family has unlocked in Brave becomes orderable as a real printed card. You can only order cards you’ve earned — that’s what makes them special. Plushies come later and won’t require unlocks.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, right from Patreon, no hoops. Your on-device data stays on your device either way.
Can I suggest an app idea?
Please do — members steer the roadmap. Post it on Patreon or use the contact page. Several things in our lab started as a parent saying “you know what would help?”
